Draft Law on Commercial Companies 

The Federal National Council (FNC) today passed a bill on commercial companies after completing deliberations on its articles.

In its 14th session of the 2nd ordinary term of the 15th legislative chapter, held today under the chairmanship of its Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, the FNC postponed seven questions to government representatives on requests by concerned ministers.

The session was attended by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, and Dr Anwar Bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Federal National Council of Affairs.

The house also discussed the policy of Ministry of Economy.

In his opening speech, Al Murr praised the ‘smart government’ initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He also referred to the Gulf Cooperation Council’s celebration of its 32nd anniversary and paid tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan who called for creation of the Council following success of the UAE federation.

The FNC members extended greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to the leaders of the GCC countries on the occasion.

Two questions on Emiratisation of Imam and Muadhen professions and on allowing Imams to perform Ruqia (healing by the holy Quran) were postponed to the next session.
