Law No. 3 of 2009 – RAK Advocacy Law
H.H. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah issued Law No. 3 of 2009 on the amendment of the law regulating the legal profession issued in the year 2004.
The first article of the amendment replaces the text of the Article 9 of the above-mentioned Act with the following: 9:4 Should practice law through the office of an enrolled national lawyer and this requirement will be in effect after five years from the date of December 12, 2004, unless a decision is issued by the Ruler or his deputy giving exemption from this requirement or extending this period.
The Crown Prince also issued an ordinance (Ordinance No.15/2009) exempting a number of layers practising in the emirate from the above law for a period of two years effective from 12 December 2009.
